An excellent narrative on "How To" plan, execute and enjoy one of the ultimate motorcycle adventures available in North America. A motorcycle ride from Florida to Alaska and back, covering 12,896 miles over 68 days.
Like their previous book, Winging It, the authors unique style puts you there on the motorcycle as they cross the "Lower 48", ride up the Alcan Highway, loop around Alaska and come down the "Inside Passage".
The book affords the reader the opportunity to duplicate the ride, use it as a planning guide or simply enjoy the adventure vicariously.
Winging It Again !! Florida to Alaska and Back eBook Marguerite William Spicer
An excellent follow-on to the Spicers' first book, "Winging It," although it can be read independently. Highly entertaining and informative travelogue not only for Gold Wing owners and fans, but for anyone interested in motorcycle touring. Specifically, for anyone considering a motorcycle trip to Alaska this is invaluable in providing detailed route suggestions and tips on what to carry, which routes to avoid, and how to plan for such an undertaking. The writing style is very easygoing and readable, and although I don't own a Gold WIng I'm convinced that I'd love to have one.Highly recommended.

Winging It Again !! Florida to Alaska and Back eBook Marguerite William Spicer Reviews
Just finished reading this book. I love the format in that it is written just as you would write a daily diary. However as a guide it is a poor guide. While the milepost is a great guide, the author could do much better daily research on google. Google can help you find accommodations in any town. Prices listed along with all amenities, such as internet, restaurants, local attractions. Gas buddy can tell you where to fill up and where not to fill up.
My final impression of the story telling is this author should sell his motorcycle and take up lawn bowling. He has a very negative outlook on every day of the ride.
This book is well written and is an enjoyable read. While logging their trip, the author describes the good, bad and the ugly truth that one will encounter along the way.
One thing I did notice in both the forerunning book of this one and this book, is that the author is obviously not traveling with any concerns of trying to save on expenses and noticed that any place that he stayed or ate that might have been considered a cost efficient establishment to the majority of people, normally received a negative review from the author.
Nothing startling, nothing new ... but it kept me glued to the pages as the story unfolded. PS Goldwings? Pfft. BMW? Yeah?? (Sorry, that's a joke.)
It is a great book, a terrific follow up for Winging it.
My wife and I are approximately the same age and can relate to their adventures.
Loved this book......just the trip we are planning this summer...but from San Francisco.
I bought this book as I used to own a motorcycle, but could not enjoy it in the inner city, so I sold it. However, I intend to take an RV to Alaska I read this book to get an idea what the trip would be like as a motorcycle is very sensitive to road conditions. The motorcyclists in this book told a very encouraging story in this regard. A bonus in this occurred as the author tells a very good story and I am looking forward to other books by him. A good adventure story in this book and another one in his first Winging It book. I hope that e does more writing.
